The order: Enjolras, Marius, Combeferre, Courfeyrac, Gavroche, Feuilly, Bahorel, Jean Prouvaire, Lesgle or Laigle, Joly, Grantaire.

Combeferre's picture is pretty, well, uninteresting. As they go. Ah, well, one can't win them all. ^^;; Maybe one of you will like it more than I do.

Today, we have Marius. He's the first one I attempted to color, so he's a little different from how later ones came out. Also, I am completely incapable of not teasing Marius mercilessly any time I attempt to even think of him, much less trying to draw him. So...well. You'll see. ^^

Finally, I'm getting around to posting these! The updates will be a bit sporatic, although the pictures are all done, because I'm in Israel and as such am being pressed by family members to "do things" and "take advantage of my time here". Which I would be pleased to do if not for the terrible jetlag that I can't seem to shake, and for the fact that, well, it's Israel. I've been here so many times they're having trouble thinking of new things for me to do. But, of course, "visiting family" can be done on repeat...and I have a laaaaarge family here. -_-;;

Anyway! The order it's going to be in is going to be: Enjolras, Marius, Combeferre, Courfeyrac, Gavroche, Feuilly, Bahorel, Jean Prouvaire, Lesgle or Laigle, Joly, Grantaire.

There isn't really much reason, except that Enjolras was the first one I sketched and Marius the first one I colored in, and they're both a little weird because of that. Also, in any ABC grouping, Enjolras ought to come first. He has that tendency, you know, to run up in front...*hums 'One Day More'* *innocent*

Done first on paper with pencil or pen, then coloring with my mouse on the computer.

Anyway, enough introduction. Judge for yourselves how they came out. And please, comment? :D?

>_< Well, I have the other pictures. But, um, they suck. Badly. I apologise for them.

Um. [livejournal.com profile] maelicia and I were talking...? I have no other excuse for this.

These are really just sketches - hasty sketches, to make it worse. Done in a little less than 2 hours, while drawing on the back of a notebook, no less. And let's not get started on the fact that this was "scanned" via digital camera photo... >_< It'll turn better once I get it onto photoshop for a few hours, I promise. It's mostly an exercise in "Is my roommate done already? Hmm, I wonder if I can do an action sequence..."

But if anyone is curious as to some random sketching of mine - and doesn't mind waiting for all the rather large pictures to load - you can see it here.

I, being completely incapable of drawing a proper Jacobin Paradise of any sort, decided to delegate the arduous task. But I put it in very capable hands: that of my 7-year-old (as of May 14th) sister, Adi. I provided her with a very basic description of their appearance, and she produced a lovely composition which she has very proudly titled "Maxime and Friends".

I think the best result of this is that the proper education of the younger generation starts now! XD

Maxime and Friends! )

Now, isn't it the loveliest picture you've ever seen? Everyone say how nice it is. XD

*sigh of relief* The monster is done! Or rather, I need to go finish packing now, so I can't do any more of it. I have such a love-hate relationship with realistic pictures, even quasi-realistic ones like this one (it has the block outline of a chibi drawing, but the coloring and detail of a more realistic picture) - I really love seeing them, and trying to drawing them is fun-but-exasperating, but god I absolutely hate coloring them..! I apologise ahead of time for the horrid background. The muses insisted on having one, despite my reminder that I absolutely suck at making them. ;_; And that was also the part of it that I rushed through knowing that I'm going to be on a PLANE tomorrow. -_-;; (Also, if you hadn't know before that my abilities to draw realistically end at the waist, you'll get to find that out now. *sighs*)

Maxime looks surprisingly young. Maybe it's the relative calm of the scene...oh, and yes, they are all properly patriotic and everything. Because when in doubt, choose the obvious colors. XD

I figured I should quickly finish and post the crack!picture and comics that I keep mentioning before people start expecting something significantly funnier/more intelligent/original than what I've actually produced. ^___^

Also, important note: in the first, and ONLY the first picture, please read the comments from right to left! You read from top to bottom as usual, but PLEASE! RIGHT TO LEFT! The rest - the comics - can be read as normal!

It's not actually that important, but it's funnier that way, and it's the way I meant it. I didn't realise that people would start reading at the wrong end until I was nearly done...oops. ^^ Please keep that in mind.

Also note that the comics are more vehicles for the joke than works of art. In other words, very hastily drawn, please forgive. ^_^

...well, because no one will understand who all these extra random chibis are without a guide, I decided to draw one. Mostly for my own benefit, which is why it's all rather thrown together into a single page, and why the names attached are more identifiers than they are names. If you've ever wondered how the chibification process goes, it's something like this. XD

Oh, and due to a lack of good colour references, I guessed on a number of things here. If you see anything you think ought to be changed, tell me! This is very tentative, and if you tell me now, I should be able to correct it before I post the next few pictures that have these guys in it!

...so, thoughts?

Just posting this really fast because I have a test and an essay to prepare tomorrow and I know nothing. *flails and runs around like a headless chicken*

On that note, I apologise for it in general. It's not nearly as funny as the last one, mostly due to the little amount of sleep/time/etc that went into it. And Saint-Just is a much worse (and more talkative) model than Maxime is. *roll eyes*

Also: warning for very mild bad language, very bad movie references, and general incoherence.

Lies and Slander Part 2: Saint-Just )

In further evidence that I procrastinate way too much, I present a small comic which has demanded the pretentious title of "The Many Lies and Slander Regularly Attached to One Maximilien Robespierre".

Mmmm...let's see, preliminary comments...well, please forgive the horrible attempt to write in cursive with a mouse, for one thing. For another, I'm willing to make more of these, so if anyone has ideas for more slander (and I'm sure there's plenty), please, share! Of course, it may be amusing only to me, but at least I found it amusing to draw. ^_^

...because I know myself. I work in small, short, highly concentrated bursts, and in the intervals I do something to distract myself. In this case, drawing!

Today, work got derailed by monthly spine-wracking pain (for some reason, I get pain not only in the abdomen, but in my spine. To the point that my spine spasms. It's not fun, and serious work is nearly impossible to achieve), so I actually finished it!

I also made it into an icon, because...well...it happened to come out in just that format. ^____^ It's not a very good icon, mind you, because I suck at that, so if anyone can make it more, I don't know, legible...? I'd appreciate it.

I'm trying out a new style - slightly more cartoonish than normal, but it seems to be working out pretty nice, so I'll keep going with it until I find something else I like more.

I have another thing I'm working on which will be posted as soon as I have time. It's titled "The Many Lies and Slanders Regularly Attached to One Maximilien Robespierre". ...yeeeeeah, it'll be interesting.

The fanart I promised everyone. I'm going away for the weekend (Wales), so I'll have limited time to respond to anyone, but please! Leave comments, for good or for ill.

Inspired by [livejournal.com profile] maelicia's fic 'A Matter of Pride' To be found here if you didn't already know.

Specifically, it's this scene:

“Hm, my wig…?”

Nonchalantly, Saint-Just gave it to him in a stiff move. He was about to shut the door roughly, when Robespierre blocked it with his arm.

“May I have a mirror?” Robespierre attempted yet another nervous smile. "Please?"

Saint-Just gave a last blank look and wordlessly slammed the door shut.

May I Have a Mirror, Please? )

Ummm...thoughts? Comments?

Right, I have returned! With pictures! And comics!

...okay, the comics, I'm just telling everyone, are on crack. I have no idea what I was thinking when I drew them. They involve movie quotes, Enjolras and Grantaire, and plushies.

-_-;;

This is a case of here, look at it, then I can hide it where it will never be seen again...drawn VERY quickly because there was so much to get through; thus the bad quality. Sorry.
