I figured I should quickly finish and post the crack!picture and comics that I keep mentioning before people start expecting something significantly funnier/more intelligent/original than what I've actually produced. ^___^

Also, important note: in the first, and ONLY the first picture, please read the comments from right to left! You read from top to bottom as usual, but PLEASE! RIGHT TO LEFT! The rest - the comics - can be read as normal!

It's not actually that important, but it's funnier that way, and it's the way I meant it. I didn't realise that people would start reading at the wrong end until I was nearly done...oops. ^^ Please keep that in mind.

Also note that the comics are more vehicles for the joke than works of art. In other words, very hastily drawn, please forgive. ^_^

Set in the 1940s...

Some decades later...

If you were wondering, it is based on this thread, here: http://nirejseki.livejournal.com/81331.html?thread=261299#t261299

Gorgeous. THIS IS GORGEOUS. I want that story to continue. XDD And this is so great I hadn't even thought of it: OF COURSE they wouldn't notice the jailbreak, there were so many dead to deal with in the 1940s. XDDDDD I *sooo* like that. I suppose the sentences given to the souls are also dealt by the Revolutionary Tribunal with Fouquier being very pissed off: I'm tired of working for these guys!!!

*grins, beams* Thank you! I'm glad you like it! And I'm sure that they've searched through their dead souls to find Fouquier and put him in the newly created Revolutionary Tribunal of Hell. Just because if they have to do this for the rest of eternity, so does he. And whenever he whines about it, they remind him that he is in hell...XD

I have no idea where the story would continue, though I would dearly like to have various demonic!CSP people appear in comics again. They're fun to draw, particularly with those little horns and snarky commentary on things not from their time period. XDD All I'm saying, Collot d'Herbois + Industrial Revolution...

You said at one point that you would post what each of them specialized in on the Committee..? Can you do that at some point? I'm trying to figure out what all of their duties on the hellish Committee are, and I need at least something to base it off of...^_^

Hee, yes. And he'll be stuck with Robespierriste Dumas just because. On royet.org, they say Dumas is the one who, on Thermidor, started shouting in the tumbril: I SHOULD HAVE CUT OFF ALL YOUR HEADS WHEN I COULD. The comment following this is: "He's one of those who gave Robespierre a bad reputation." Poor Dumas. I'm sure they exaggerated. But it's amusing nevertheless. .__.

Because the Industrial Revolution leads to the Proletarian Revolution? Collot is clearly trying to get back some support from the demon!sans-culottes? XD

Hm, I will. (But clearly not now). ^__^ Right now, I remember that some split the military correspondance (that was mostly Carnot and Saint-Just) and some were the "specialists" or the "technicians" who were working on specific problems. I *know* I read it in a book somewhere, it was summarised and clear, but I don't remember if it was in Soboul or in Gross. Arrrgh. I'll have to check that. (Though maybe Soboul's dictionary can summarise it.) >.>

*laughs* ^__^ Nice.

I imagine Collot has been kept as far away as possible from the demon!sans-culottes. Hell did not even realise that the any of its demons could be defined as "sans-culottes" until he arrived. XD

^___^ Whenever you get around to it, I'll be thankful. I also found it somewhere, but I don't remember where...this happens to me far too often; little bits of detail drift up and I know they're from SOMEWHERE, but I have no idea where. -__-;;

I remember Lindet was working with subsistence and Saint-André with the navy, if that helps.

*dies laughing* Absolutely brilliant. :D Say, do any Revolutionaries who weren't on the CSP have jobs in hell too? Also, why are Maxime's horns different than everyone else's? -__-;

From: [identity profile] nirejseki.livejournal.com
^_^ Thanks! I'm glad you like it.

And yes, I'm sure they do. Any suggestions on who gets what...? ^______^ They all have different style horns. Maxime got the pretty curled ones that curve backwards - he's at a bad angle in the table for it to be seen properly, particularly in chibi form, but they're really not any more different from the others as the others are from each other.

I do indeed, citoyenne. ^__^

That's a good question. I don't suppose hell has a Convention...? Oh. It's just that all the others are pointy...

^__^

No, I don't think imagine it does...or at least, if it does, it's probably not very efficient. I mean, imagine how huge it must be..! I'm definitely seeing a Pandæmonium Commune, though...

...it looks better on paper. ;_; In this one, it didn't come out so that you can see the pointy ends of them...

In that case, what function could the Revolutionaries who were just Conventionnels have? They could be sent on mission, I suppose, but where to...? XD That would be amusing.

It's okay. It still looks good here. :D

Um, I don't know. As far as I'm concerned, Hell is a massive disorganized place which may or may not generate bureaucratic busy-work spontaneously, because it is evil. I imagine "find out what to do with all the Conventionnels/everyone else" is part of the job the CSP get when they arrive. Missions? Hmmm...supervising the building houses for the inevitable space shortage, I suppose. Heading off to fight in the revolutionary if demonic army to expand against Heaven's territories in order to get more of that space...and, of course, in a mission to overthrow the tyrant. Because Saint-Just is Lucifer's temp here, after all, and I'm sure it's on his objectives list. Yes, they'd be very noisy and rather annoying, though significantly less dangerous politically than in the human world. And they'd get Chaumette (with his pretty sans-culotte-demons) to speak for them, of course.

^___^ Yay!

You have much better ideas for this than I could have come up with, I'm afraid. I certainly wouldn't mind reading a sequel to that effect... That too, would be entertaining to see in chibi form. XD

From: [identity profile] nirejseki.livejournal.com
^__^ I suspect it comes of my other major being Religious Studies. It practically demands that you be able to randomly manipulate Christian mythology to fit into bureaucratic Revolutionary France...XD

Wouldn't that get boring, though, if all that's happening is them arguing about what to do...? Or do you mean a sequel involving the conventionnels on mission...?

Okay, that I admit would be funny...XD "Hello, I have a list of demands..."
"Oh, go home to your sans-culotte-demon friends, Chaumette!"
"You have to listen to the people!"
"I hate to remind you of this, especially in sight of the horns on my head, but demons aren't people..!"

From: [identity profile] estellacat.livejournal.com
That probably has something to do with it. XD I think I may have preferred them in Jacobin Paradise though. >__>

Yes, one involving the conventionnels on mission, since it would be interesting to see what kind of missions they would get in hell...

*sporfle* I take it there's no Declaration of the Rights of Demon and Citizen?

Date: 2008-05-03 05:09 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] nirejseki.livejournal.com
Probably, yes. ^_^ Well, of course. But my opinion has always been that Paradises are very boring to portray. If it's perfect and happy, then what do they have to do..? *mind of a writer* They'd be happy, though, which would be nice...

*chuckles* Okay, I'll see what I can do...

No, but I'm certain there's a subcommittee somewhere devoted to drafting it...but it keeps coming up against problems. Like: demonic law is the expression of the general will. But wait, according to doctrine they don't even have free will...I think that's the subcommittee they send people to when they want to punish them. XD

From: [identity profile] estellacat.livejournal.com
I didn't say it would necessarily be interesting to portray them there--except perhaps in art, because that would probably be cute--just that I prefer to think of them there than stuck on Hell's CSP for all eternity. >__>

Thought of anything yet?

Yes, I suppose that could be a problem... We'll have to think of who should get sent to the subcommittee. XD

I agree, in that sense.

Oh, yes. Certainly. I can't promise it's any good, but then, I can't promise that for anything. I'll draw it as soon as finals end. ^^

I have a comic in the works for that, too...XD

And then [livejournal.com profile] maelicia did have some pretty good crack ideas for that...

Excellent--I'm sure it will be good. When are your finals over?

Oh, lovely. XD!
