Feb. 20th, 2005 07:59 pmSaw "Son of the Mask" today...the movie was predictably juvenile, but the guy playing Loki (Alan Cummings) rocked. I like him generally as an actor, and he was playing Loki, whom I adore. He was a remarkably good Loki - there were only a few parts in which the lines he was given to say were just too bad for even him to pull off well, and the few times they made him turn green (yeah, green...luckily it didn't happen all that often) were just wrong, because he's just so wickedly cute that it's a crime to make him change into some green...thing. (Ironically, he has the looks that I usually describe as being Loki-like. ^_^)
Since I went to the movie for the sole purpose of seeing him as Loki, I wasn't terribly disappointed. They completely messed up Norse mythology (expected), the other actors weren't very good (expected), the CGing was not a complete disaster but not really good either (expected)...well, with expectations as low as I had going in, I'm happy.
There was this one scene...( The only really specific spoiler in this post )
All in all, he's a damn good Loki, as far as the movie script allowed him to be. The movie isn't any good, but it's worth seeing just to see him. He gets some good lines! ^___^
