They're closing it! >_____< Goddamn them all.
Went to see Tale of Two Cities today - I'd planned it for a birthday party, because I'd found tickets for very cheap student-wise, and at any rate there are only two people who I generally consider 'very close friends' in the city so the expense wasn't that much - and at the end of the show they announced that they were being forced to close!
;_; I mean, it wasn't the best musical ever. It had a somewhat cringe-worthy beginning (the opening sequence is awesome, then the beginning is terrible, then it gets much, much better so that you forget the beginning), and the songs are a little confused (what's the use of 'Dover' and 'Round and Round'?), and, well, it's based on Dickens so somehow the storming of the Bastille leads directly to the declaration of the Republic (wouldn't that have been nice, but no), but still! It was really really good! It's the only musical for adults left in all of Broadway at the moment, and it's much better than that horrible Shrek musical they're planning, or in fact most of the musicals currently on Broadway. But, economic crisis happens, all the good shows don't get lengthened. Damnit. I really wanted to see it again, and show my friend who DOESN'T live in NYC the show because she's coming to visit - in three weeks, damnit, three weeks! - but no.
I'm depressed now... >_< This is NOT the type of birthday present I wanted, damnit! I'm hitting two decades, I deserve something nice, not depressing news. Please let this be the only bad or depressing thing that happens in the next week, please. Please.
