Well, it was my subconscious plotting it out, not me, so yes, "bizarre" is probably the best word for it...note, I never said the Dantonists never are - as far as I could tell, that was merely delayed rather than entirely averted (thus Camille's decision to jump ship...) Though I'm now theorizing based on clues in a daymare, which is a bit sad. Daymares need to come with footnotes.
Alternate history stories are fun, but they're always going to end up bizarre and not entirely realistic - the whole butterfly effect kicks in at various places, and you can never really tell how one change would have really affected everything. Perhaps the only change would be a delay of the events of the Revolution - but then you'd need to take into accounts the harvests, battles, etc. that are going on. Even just a delay could potentially change everything...I do love alternate histories.
