Ah, LJ! I missed you when you were down. Hats off to the LJ crew, all, for fixing 100 dead servers. (I couldn't handle one, much less 100...)
Can not post next part of 'Who We Are' yet, as have been Terribly Busy. Will work on that, though.
Have been tempted to write Van Helsing/HP crossover. (Yes, Van Helsing was a terrible movie, but it was utterly hilarious and had such an amusingly campy villain, therefore I am willing to write something with it) Do not think that I will be able to hold out against said temptation.
I have two original comic ideas, both of which have similar basic themes. I adore both ideas, and will most likely attempt at least one.
The first is bascially a movie universe, in which people live in towns that are actually, well, like movies. This was inspired by a question my muse asked me one day: "What would happen if characters in horror movies could actually hear the creepy background music? They'd know when the evil killer was coming, and everything, wouldn't they?"
Thus the temptation to draw a scene vaguely similar to that, and a whole world of ideas could be taken from movie cliches alone...
The second is similar, and the original play idea of my good friend
thelogicalghost, and it features a guy who fell out of his book and is wandering through a library - read, other books - and the audience hopefully getting the jokes and lit references. Sounds like a GREAT comic idea. And
thelogicalghost? Everyone's dead! ^____^
*cough* Ignore the last inside joke. It's a reference to a play in a camp which was not about plays done by people just randomly wanted to do a play about a play which was a very strange play to begin with.
...hey, give me a break, I'm suffering from LJ deprival here.
In other news, I REALLY want Starpiper to come online, because she's coming into my conversations at odd moments. COME ONLINE! *cups hands around mouth and yells in her direction in hopes that something - anything! - will be heard*
I have been reading Xena/Hercules the Legendary Journeys fanfic lately, for some reason. I have never seen the show(s), nor am I really, truly inclined to. However, I know enough about Greek myths that even the screwed up versions in these shows doesn't actually prevent much of a barrier to understanding, strangely enough.
And for everyone's knowledge, when people say that Xena/HLJ screwed up Greek mythology? They're not joking, and they're not just talking about the completely incorrect outfits. Allow me to give a particularly bad example: they have a character named Celesta, who is Hades' sister. She's the Goddess of Death. (Bear with me, Greek mythology fans - it only gets worse) She has a candle which she carries around, and if it ever goes out, nothing will be able to die. The good guys, of course, have to be asked by Hades himself (who by the way occasionally comes up to bring the dead souls to the Underworld himself...) to get her back, because for some reason he can't. Despite the, y'know, super-powerful-god thing that they have in the series.
Doesn't it just make you want to kill something? Someone?
And now for something completely different, a note to all: I love Michael Wincott. Random actor. Typically gets very small roles. For some reason, I have developed a small obsession with him. Nothing major, but I think he just rocks. In this one movie, he has about two minutes of screen time, most of which only his shadow is shown, or he's out of focus and standing behind the main character, and he gets killed really early on, and he STILL manages to outact the main actor. I adore him, because he is Cool.
...kudos to all that got the reference in the last section, but no, he has nothing to do with them. He's just really awesome.
Can people list me names of actors they like? I'm still trying to cast a lot of things, and I need actors. Good actors, not pretty-but-can't-act ones. Whenever you can, of course - don't, and I really mean don't - let a list of actors be your only response to this, because darn it all, I spent time on this post!
