Hamas decides to break a truce and start bombing Israel.
This is because Israel has an election coming up and it is in Hamas' best interest to make the far-right party win the election, because that way war will not end and they can continue to recruit for their jihad. Best way to make the far-right win an election? Start a war. So they did. Bombs are now dropping on the city where my grandmother lives, a city of over 100K people.
Today, all the newspapers had an entry about Israel air-striking Gaza.
BUT of all the newspapers I read - and I read about 6 a day regularly, more if I'm wondering what people's opinons are on a subject - the only ones who DO NOT mention that Israel's bomb strikes are in retailation to the Hamas strikes are the fucking left wingers. It's hard to be pro-Palestine when Palestine is, well, starting it, so they conveniently leave that fact out. One of them even said that Israel "resumed" bombing of Gaza - as if it was a random decision made by the Israeli gov't for no reason other than the fact that they don't like the poor, innocent Palestinians led by Hamas.
Fucking hell. All I want is for the liberals to win in Israel and make peace, but peace requires BOTH SIDES to agree to it. The fucking left wing needs to remember that and put as much pressure on Hamas to conform as it does on Israel.
