The song "All Star" by Smashmouth has those lyrics that go "Somebody once asked/Could you spare some change for gas/I need to get myself away from this place; I said yep/What a concept/I could use a little fuel myself/And we could all use a little change".
I dunno if it means I've been living in the twenty-first century too long, but while listening to this song for the first time in years, my mind just boggled at the idea that one could get gas for 'change'.
